Where were you born?

I was born in Marlboro, MA on February 1st 1983.  It is as small city 35 minutes east of Boston.  I moved to San Diego in 2003.

Do you have any brothers and sisters?

Yes, I have 3 brothers.  My mom had 4 children in less than five years.  I am the third child and the only girl.  I think growing up around boys made me tough.  I prefer to be around men and find most women catty and dramatic.

What is your present occupation?

I am running my own personal training and sports nutrition business, A Deal 4 Fitness.  I have been doing personal trainer for 4 years now.  I decided to work for myself because I like to be my own boss.  Prior to personal training I was a preschool teacher and have worked with kids since I was 15 years old.

If you could best describe yourself in three words what would they be?

Eccentric, Outgoing, Stubborn

What was your first job and when?

I started working at Dunkin Donuts when I was 14 years old.  I liked making my own money and drinking as much free coffee as I wanted.  One of my favorite snacks at work was a self-created breakfast sandwich that consisted of the “Everything Flavored” bagel, egg, cheese, bacon, and cream cheese. It probably consisted of more calories in it than I eat all day now but it was really delicious! For dessert I would also have the “Boston Cream” donut.  I still love my sweets.

What is your previous and current athletic background?

I played field hockey for a short period of time in high school.  I really enjoyed it and have always been extremely competitive.  I also started figure skating when I was 3.  I didn’t play on any organized sports teams when I was younger because I was too shy.

Do you have any heroes?

My mom, because she taught me to work hard and to never settle for anything less than I deserve.

How did you get interested in Fitness?

One of my favorite shows growing up was American Gladiators.  I loved that the women looked strong and tough.   I told myself that I wanted to have muscles like that someday.  I heard that they are bringing back the show in 2008 and hopefully you’ll see me as a contestant one day!

What favorite and least body part to train?

My favorite body part to train is legs.  I like to push myself past as far as I can.  My favorite exercise for legs is squats.  I don’t have a least favorite body part; I like to train them all.

What do you do for fun outside of fitness?

I really enjoy the outdoors and many various outdoor sports, such as snowboarding, ice skating, body boarding, running, sailing and playing tennis.  I love watching good movies, fine dining, traveling, wine tasting, and what girl doesn’t love shopping.  My favorite thing to do is act silly and laugh, usually until my stomach hurts and I can’t breathe.

What is your favorite offseason food?

I love eating dark chocolate and drinking red wine.  I also really enjoy cooking, so I spend a decent amount of time in the kitchen creating new healthy recipes.

What is your favorite diet food?

I love eating peanut butter.  I eat it when I am dieting but as I get closer to the show I have to remove it from the house because it is too tempting and I get tempted to eat the whole jar.  If I am feeling super hungry before bed, I eat a bag of cabbage with splenda, cinnamon, and egg beaters or a protein pancake.

Are you in a relationship?

No, I am single and plan on staying that way until I get my life where I want it to be.
